Columbus Ohio Beginning Dance Classes
Beginning Group Classes at DancePlus are a fun way to explore the benefits of ballroom dance. These classes are perfect for beginners, also known as, newcomers because they are designed to be social, easy and engaging.
In Beginning Group Classes, instructors teach the social and people skills necessary to be confident at social or group functions. Students not only have the opportunity to meet new people but they also gain dance skills such as leading and following while navigating the dance floor.

What Kind of Classes are Available for Beginners?
We have two types of classes for beginning dancers –drop-in group classes and group class series. We will place you in a group class that we feel best fits your goals and schedule.
Do I need a Partner?
Group classes are available for both individuals and couples. If you are an individual you will be assigned a partner. As such, students do not need a partner to attend any of our group dance classes. Instead, we have “dance angels” that volunteer to assist beginners in need of a dance partner.

We have several payment options depending on your goals. We have pricing for those attending as individuals and those attending as a couple. We also have drop-in rate, class passes, and monthly memberships.
I’m preparing for a wedding, would group ballroom classes prepare me?
Yes they will! In fact, we recommend group classes in addition to private lessons for those attending weddings.
Group balloom dance lessons are appropriate for anyone looking to dance the night away at a wedding. Not only will be you be able to dance to a variety of music, but you will also learn how to navigate the “combat conditions” of a crowded, public social dance floor.

What should I wear for my first lesson?
Anything comfortable and hard soled-shoes or dance shoes. If you are preparing for a special event or wish to buy shoes, please look at our inventory to order your first pair.
